I was already teaching myself about natural dyeing when a former employer recommended this book to me. It’s the true life story of how synthetic dyes (how mass produced color is made today) was accidentally created and then mainstreamed. It changed the world as far as natural dyes were concerned. AND has had catastrophic affects on our environments ever since.
Reading this also helped me to realized how much I love reading non-fiction. Stuff with facts that I’m interested in I’m come to really enjoy.
When you look around you and notice what color exists just in your view, have you ever thought how that color was created? Where that original source derived from? I think about this stuff all the time.
